Latitud is the Foundation of the Laboratorio Tecnológico del Uruguay (LATU) oriented to the planning and implementation of Research, Development and Innovation (R&D).
Objective
Be a flexible organization focused on the development of R&D projects that may adapt to the needs of Industry and the country, with the support of LATU.

Provide the productive sector with innovative and value solutions that anticipate the global demands, through applied research, technological linkages and development of networks, to drive the country’s sustainable development.

Infrastructure
The offices of Latitud are located at the building Los Abetos
in LATU’s Technological Park in Montevideo.
The Foundation has two 500 m² pilot plants and laboratories occupying 300 m² in the technical area of LATU’s central building. In these spaces Latitud implements its projects at laboratory and pilot scales.

Environmental management, based on ISO 14001: 2015, covers all activities, projects, processes and products that are under the control or influence of Latitude.

Latitud develops its R&D activities promoting responsible and sustainable management in a framework of improvement and care of the environment, in compliance with applicable regulations.
Occupational Health and Safety
The Occupational Health and Safety management system (SST), based on the ISO 45001: 2018 standard, covers all activities developed by Latitude inside and outside its facilities and the activities carried out by any person who visits or carries out activities in said facilities.
